Joining Favia Erickson Winegrowers in 2008, I have had the good fortune to work alongside true masters of their craft, including owners viticulturalist Annie Favia and winemaker Andy Erickson, as well as several outstanding growers Mike Wolf, Terry Wilson, Lee Hudson, Phil Coturri and Ann Kraemer.

Laying the foundation of my career with Favia and Leviathan, I’ve had the opportunity to work in South Africa at Klein Constantia, with Dancing Hares Vineyard, as well as involvement with numerous projects with Andy Erickson. I am also a founding partner of ROOM Wines, a joint venture with Annie and Andy – an outlet for our experimental, enological whims of fancy. 

In 2011, my husband Andrew and I began Gather – our story to share, at the crossroads of the arts and the sciences.

Growing up in Louisiana shaped my love for food and wine – from everyday occurrences like fishing for brim in our pond and doing homework on the kitchen island while my mom made crab and corn bisque – to weekend outings like waterskiing in the Atchafalaya Basin and the first inklings of a perfect pairing – flash-fried oysters and Chablis.  The sense of family, gathering around the dinner table, and the elements that draw everyone together remained central to me throughout my education. While studying and working in Italy, my interests attained more focus. My encounters with various Italian winemakers made a great impression on me. The marriage of disciplines seemed poetic and inexhaustible to me: biology, chemistry, botany, geology, geography, linguistics. And the range of scope from finite – think “mannoproteins and mouthfeel” to infinite – the immeasurable enjoyment of a breath-taking pairing. 

While living in LA, I worked with wine institutions to learn practical applications for wine’s enjoyment: the largest wine shop in LA The Wine House, an amazing neighborhood Italian restaurant Toscana, and later, a frank, hands-on enology education at Fresno State, replete with full access to their winery and an incredibly patient and talented winemaker John Giannini.
